Privacy policy

Your answers to the onboarding questions, including the nickname you give the other person (we ask for a nickname or initial, never a full name).

The chat screenshots or chat export you upload, only for as long as it takes to read them (see below).

The reading we create: the score, insights and suggested replies.

If you create an account: your email address. If you buy something: a record that you bought it (we never see or store your card details).

Basic technical data needed to run the service, such as request logs with your IP address, kept for 30 days.

Uploaded chats are stored in a private, encrypted location only until the reading is done, and then deleted. Anything left over for any reason is deleted automatically within 24 hours.

We never store your chats in our database, never show them to anyone, and never use them to train AI models.

We never contact the person in your chat, and they are never told.

Tea is optional. If you post there, the screenshots you covered, your question, and any comments you write are shown to other ChatCupid users. They are shown without your name or any account details, but anything left uncovered in a screenshot is visible, so cover names, photos, numbers and handles before posting.

Unlike readings, Tea posts are stored until you delete them or your account. Votes you cast are stored too and are never shown to anyone else.

Every post and comment is checked by an automated safety system (Anthropic's AI) and can be reported by readers. Reported content is hidden and may be reviewed by our team.

Amazon Web Services (United States) hosts the app and stores data, encrypted.

Anthropic reads your chat to create your reading. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not train its models on this data.

Stripe processes payments on the web. Apple and Google process in-app purchases, with RevenueCat recording which purchases are active.

We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.

Chats for readings: until the reading is done (at most 24 hours). Readings and answers: until you delete them or your account. Tea posts, comments and votes: until you delete them or your account; removed posts are kept up to 90 days for review. Purchase records: as long as the law requires for tax and accounting.

You can delete your account and all your readings at any time in the app. This removes your data from our systems right away (backups expire within 14 days).

You can also ask for a copy of your data or ask us to delete it by emailing privacy@chatcupid.app.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Our database is not reachable from the internet, and each part of the service can only access the data it needs.

ChatCupid is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors, and we delete it if we learn we have.
